Tom Cruise opened up about his conversation with fellow superstar Taylor Swift after the two entertainment icons were discovered sitting together during the season opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos. The surprise pairing of Hollywood icons caught fire when still images captured Cruise and Swift in conversation at Arrowhead Stadium on September 14.
Later on in an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cruise cleared up what the discussion was about, and claimed that mainly, it was football. Instead of talking about their careers, it seems Swift was just guiding the football legend on the sport when he saw Travis Kelce and the Chiefs for himself.
“She was schooling me about football, ” Cruise told the interviewer. He revealed that this was the first NFL game he had attended since the start of the pandemic, and that he was surprised by how knowledgeable Swift was about the game.

Swift has become commonplace at Chiefs games and has often been observed enrapt by a play from the private suite or stands. The game mentioned above occurred when the Kansas City Chiefs played host to the Denver Broncos for their first game of the 2026 regular season. Swift was there to support her singer husband, Travis Kelce. Cruise was present as a plus one of either Swift or Kelce. The Chiefs retained a dominant 3110 victory.
Cruise described the suite as a “lot of fun” because it was his first football game in about ten years. He also expressed a lot of love for Swift and Kelce as a “beautiful couple” and talked about the “vibe in the suite, ” as many of their friends and family were present.
