Since introducing the HushJet series of air purifiers, Dyson is unveiling 3 new HushJet air cleaners around IFA 2026 in Berlin. The new models broaden Dyson’s aviation-inspired airflow technology to larger and more versatile air treatment appliances.
The new series addresses one longstanding issue with high-powered air purifiers and fans, namely providing a powerful stream of air while minimizing the noise generated.
HushJet was launched in Dyson’s small purifier, before making its way into Dyson’s personal cooling range. Instead of the iconic Dyson loop-shaped Air Multiplier design, Dyson’s engineers developed a unique star-shaped nozzle, adapted from professionals in aerospace airflow control, which HuahJet employs.
‘When used in the new purifier the engineers sought to control turbulence just as that beginning as airflow exits the machine, enabling the appliance to project a focused beam of air with minimal noise.
‘ That concept has been expanded to the new full sized models. That offers a series of models targeted at bedrooms, living rooms and even larger multi-room environments where air circulation is desired, but an ongoing fan hum is unpleasant.
The most significant new feature is the Dyson HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde. This is a large-room, high-volume system claimed by Dyson to be suitable for use across several rooms or larger commercial-sized environments.
The purifier is fitted with a multiple-stage filtration system and is claimed to remove particles down to a very small size, besides gases like formaldehyde.
For slightly smaller homes, Dyson has unveiled the HushJet Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde, which aims to deliver purified air further into the room and occupy less space than the HushJet Max. It is being marketed as a functional residential purifier that keeps the HushJet modus operandi of producing a quieter stream of air.
The third model to arrive was the HushJet Hot Cool Pure+. This one offers another feature to the formula. Besides purified air and cooling, this model also offers heating, making it a three in-one model. This model is called by Dyson “the most powerful HushJet 3-in-1 purifer to date.
Filtration is still a cornerstone of the HushJet saga. The new models are pitched at handling fine particulates as well as gases and smells, with the premium models incorporating some form of formaldehyde filtration. Dyson’s earlier HushJet Compact exemplified this concept, uniting sealed filtration with a star-shaped nozzle.
The avoidance of noise is just as crucial. The original HushJet Compact is capable of running at only 24dB in sleep mode and Dyson’s updated, larger models have been designed along similar linesthey aim to minimize turbulence instead of reducing fan speed. The challenge is to make a machine that packs a punch in ‘clean air’ terms, but is unobtrusive overall.
